The other day, my brother, Andy called just to say hello. He lives in Seattle, and says they're staying indoors due to the wildfire smoke. Somehow I'd thought the fires were in California, not Oregon and Washington, too. I was wrong. Seattle, for heaven's sake!
Now the skies here are covered in a fine haze, and the sun burns pink even when it's well above the horizon. We're thousands of miles from the fires.
