It's been a challenging time. I've had car trouble that's going to cost me dearly. For now, I'm driving it very gently.
I've also had foot pain where I've got a big callus. I don't understand it, but have been going to the doctor and podiatrist. I missed an appointment with the podiatrist due to the pandemic. That gave the callus a chance to get worse. So now we're playing catch-up with maintenance. Then I got a flu shot, which always gives me a big welt. I told the nurse, and she said that that was a sign of a good immune response. Whew. And I am just getting over a sty in my right eye. Lots of gooey antibiotic ointment.
Things are just challenging, and I'm as nervous as anyone about the upcoming election. I've already voted. I filled out my mail-in ballot, then walked it over to the town hall. There was no line at all, just two nice poll workers (younger than the ones I'm used to seeing) with plenty of hand sanitizer. I feel privileged to live in a town where this is possible. I wish everyone's experience were this simple.
The above photo is of the cosmos on my deck, on a foggy morning. They're now as tall as I am. Flowers in the fall are so refreshing.
